Name: Gordon Mitchell

Gordon Mitchell, doing business as PulpConsult International, provides sales and service in the Western Region for the Forest Products Industry. The focus of PulpConsult International is the optimization of refining applications, and the measurement and control of fiber quality to meet end-use product and production requirements.
PulpConsult International represents Pulmac International based in Montpelier, Vermont, and Fluid-Quip, Inc., GL&V/National, and Sinclair International.
Gordon has been providing sales and service for Pulmac Instruments for over 9 years and has been in the West Coast regions of the U.S. and Canada for over 6 years. His 50 years of experience in the industry includes membership in TAPPI, PIMA, and APPITA. He chaired the mechanical pulping program for the TAPPI Pulping Conference for 10 years. He was Program Chairman for the 1991 International Mechanical Pulping Conference and served for 6 years as the Chairman of the bi-annual TAPPI Mechanical Pulping seminar.
When asked how he views his role in the pulp and paper industry, Gordon replied, “I provide process assistance to customers and prospective customers. I help mills by performing process audits and bringing to their attention how they can improve their product. If you don’t measure what you do, how can you hope to improve?”
On a more personal note, Gordon lives in Blaine, Washington with his wife, Trish. His six children are all married and he enjoys the time he spends with them and his 19 grandchildren.
